COHEMO to update Spanish Leopard 2A4 simulators

COHEMO, a Spanish company based in the Community of Madrid, is a company specialized in Supply, Engineering and Maintenance within the defense sector with more than 30 years of experience as a partner of the Spanish Army.

It will be one of the companies responsible for the modernization of the driving and turret simulators of the Leopard 2A4 tank, operational in the cavalry regiments of Ceuta and Melilla.

COHEMO, together with another company, has won the file with a bid close to 600,000 euros, which includes modernization tasks, logistical support and training courses. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2021.

Thanks to the new system, it will be possible to simulate both Leopard 2A4 driving and tower systems employment training situations. All this is expected to be scalable and fully compatible with the Leopard 2E thanks to certain upgrades.

This contract aroused the interest of several companies, specifically up to a total of 7 bids from different companies, but it was finally the bid submitted by the union of which COHEMO is a member that won the contract.

At the present time, the Army has 108 Leopard 2A4 battle tanks. They were acquired in 2006 in exchange for 17 million euros following an agreement with the German government.
